Sunday elections in Venezuela

This Sunday, Venezuela returns to the polls in regional and municipal elections.

Several countries, including the United States, are unaware of the reasons why Nicolás Maduro was reelected as president of Venezuela in 2018, which were criticized and highly controversial at the time.

Citizen participation was the lowest since 200, so the ruling party highlighted the historic results for Maduro. He had a 4 million vote lead.

According to data, the elections of 2012, 13, and 16, citizens had a participation of 78% compared to 2018 with only 46%.
