Monique Scott for new 24th District Councilwoman

Monique Scott has been nominated by Mayor Lightfoot, as the new councilor for District 24 of the city, however her selection must first be confirmed through votes by the members of the City Council.

Previously this position was held by Michael Scott Jr. who has now assumed his position as director of industry and community relations for Cinespace Studios in the city of Chicago.
 
Monique Scott was a health consultant at North Lawndale Christian Health Center for 14 years, as well as District Park Recreation Supervisor for the Chicago Park District.
 
Scott said in a statement that he was honored to be chosen to represent both working men and women of said District, for which he will strive to provide economic development and security to residents.
 
This Wednesday, through a confirmation vote by the full city council, Scott's result will be known.
