Annual Exposition of African American Women at McCormick Place in Chicago

The 27th Annual African American Women's Expo returns under the theme: "The Legacy Continues", it will be presented at Chicago's McCormick Place from August 12-14, 2022.
Merry Green, the creator and executive producer of the exhibition, the largest for black women in the country, said: "We chose this theme in honor of the thousands of black women, men and families who have supported us for years without fail."
Today, August 11, the festivities will begin with a “Phenomenal Woman” awards reception, in which 12 women will be honored for their professional achievements and contributions to the community.
Astin Hayes, Michelle Okennard, Jimilita Tillman, Kari Steele, Glennese Harston Ray, Jackie Burgess-Bishop, Monique Spence, among others, are some of those who will be honored.
Sponsors, dignitaries, and various city officials will make remarks at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, August 12, at 9:45 a.m.
